(Alex flat-irons her hair in the bus bathroom. They're just about to go shopping in Cleveland, Ohio.) ALEX: (singing) Boy, you got me going crazy, knock me off my feet. Now you got me begging, baby. Begging baby please. All I wanna know is do you wanna get away? Get away with me. Cuz boy I don't know what to do cuz I'm so in love...(She drops her hands and sighs. Nick comes and stands in the doorway.) NICK: Why are you sighing? You aren't THAT hideous. (Alex turns to him and narrows her eyes.) ALEX: Shut up. (She looks back in the mirror.) Do I look okay? NICK: Lex, you look fine. (He stands behind her and wraps his arms around her, kissing her neck. She puts her left hand on the side of HIS neck.) ALEX: This isn't working for me. NICK: What? Us? ALEX: No. My hair. (She breaks away and fixes a strand of hair.) NICK: Alex. You look hot no matter what you do. (Alex grabs an eyeliner pencil and goes to work.) You're nuts. ALEX: I know. (She turns. He looks at her now dark eyes.) NICK: Perfect. Like the rest of you. (He puts his arms around her waist.) Now PLEASE stop stressing. ALEX: Okay. (She gives him a quick kiss on the lips.) Let's go then. (Alex goes to get her purse. They find Kevin and Joe.) NICK: You guys ready? JOE: Yeah. KEVIN: (calling to their parents) We're heading out. DENISE: (from the next room) Okay! Be careful! JOE: Will do! (The four leave. Nick holds Alex's hand.) (After wandering around aimlessly for awhile, the group finds a vintage store. Sadly, a trio of girls walks past as The JBs and Alex do. Their heads turn. They scream and walk up to them.) GIRL 1: OMG! You're, like, the JONAS BROTHERS! GIRL 2: We're coming to your concert tonight!!! GIRL 3: CAN WE HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPHS??? GIRL 1: AND YOUR PHONE NUMBERS??? (The girls suddenly notice Alex holding hands with Nick.) GIRL 3: Who is SHE? ALEX: Um. I'm Alex. GIRL 2: I didn't know Nick had a new GIRLFRIEND! GIRL 3: I hate you already. (Alex scoffs and drops Nick's hand.) Fight me if you want, deary, but I take karate. I could kick your ass. ALEX: Excuse me? GIRL 1: You, like, heard her! Back off of Nick, bitch. NICK: Um...Am I not allowed to have a life? GIRL 1: Of course you are, Nick! With Jenny! (Jenny=Girl 3) JENNY: Sarah, you don't just say that to someone. SARAH: Well, you don't exactly tell a famous guy's girlfriend that she needs to back off. JENNY: You did. GIRL 2: Um...I just wanted your autographs. (She turns to her friends.) Why are you guys so rude? They're people too. JOE: Thanks for realizing it. And you can have my phone number too. GIRL 2: Really?? (She moves closer to Joe.) I'm Katie. JOE: (flirtatiously) Today's your lucky day. I happen to like girls named Katie. KATIE: Really? I feel lucky. JENNY: Katie! KATIE: What? Am I not allowed to have a life away from doing what you say? SARAH: It's okay, Jenny. I still support you. (Jenny scoffs and storms away. Sarah follows.) JOE: So, Katie, you wanna hang out with us? KATIE: Would I ever! KEVIN: Wow, Joe. JOE: What? (The five of them go into the vintage store. Katie's eyes go directly to the box of old records. She breaks away from Joe to look at them. Joe stares at her, drooling.) NICK: Dude. You need a tissue? JOE: What? ALEX: C.Y.S.L. JOE/KEVIN/NICK: Huh? ALEX: Check Your Spit Level. JOE: (wiping his mouth) Guys, I think I just fell in love. KEVIN: Good luck with that. (That night at the concert, backstage. Joe gave Katie two backstage passes. Nick and Alex sit in the dressing room, practicing. Joe paces in front of Kevin.) KEVIN: Dude, calm down. JOE: I can't! Katie's so pretty and nice! KEVIN: It won't work out, Joe. We live on the other side of the country. JOE: I don't care! (He sees Katie come in with another gorgeous blond. Kevin sees the blond and is mesmerized. Katie comes over to Joe.) KATIE: Hey! Joe, Kevin, this is my best friend Rachel. Rachel, you know these guys. (Rachel is staring at Kevin.)
