I don't know what much else I can add to the loss of the great cinematic legend Paul Newman (1925-2008), who was as un-Hollywood as anyone could get. Actor, director, Oscar-winner, enthusastic racer, political activist, generous philanthropist, husband, father, grandfather, friend - Newman was representative of one of the last glimpses into classy filmdom history. Described by one critic as "the handsome profile of a Roman coin", Newman proved there was much more to him than his looks, starring in many popular films, quite a few opposite his wife of 50 years, Joanne Woodward, and he also directed her a few times. With those piercing blue eyes, he made one think that he was looking into their souls. I fittingly chose Jo Stafford's rendition of "I Remember You" to sum up how I feel about Mr. Newman, and probably how many think of him. We have his tremendous body of work and his example of giving to honor his memory with. Enjoy. DISCLAIMER: All photos, stills and music are copyrighted to their respective owners.
