Cricket's regular episodic "Shell Bar" singing engagements were like rays of sunlight piercing through the heavily-clouded drama that surrounded them. Her voice—earnest, young, and appealing; her presence—warm, poised, dynamic, gorgeous: Cricket was a woman of many grace notes.
