Sep 26, 2008 - i know it doesnt make sense, but richard patrick said the song was about how commonplace school violence has become.

Oct 5, 2008 - I think its a subject that fascinates and horrifies him, as it does many of us who still remember the humiliations of school (even decades later) and how at one time or another most of us wished we could blow the place up. "It's Over" (from 'Short Bus') also seems to allude to school shootings, and it was released before Columbine, during the seemingly endless wave of shootings in the late 90s that finally led to Columbine. This is well done, thanks for creating it!

Oct 6, 2008 - actually the song "It's Over" is about the suicide of Richard Patricks friend.

Oct 6, 2008 - I figured it was written about a suicide, but the lyrics could also be what was going through Eric and Dylan's minds in their final moments of terror (and the hellishly scary riff in that song fits them too). Any song is open to interpretation in a different way from the one that the artist intended, just as "American Cliche" isnt directly about Columbine or school shootings either, but (as youve shown here) it can work with that visual concept too.
