Hey guys, Restocker again. This is a short video of me showing some of the game mechanics of Castlevania Aria of Sorrow and how useful they are once mastered. I show a bit of animation/jump canceling (as I like to call it) and some maneuvers regarding the Back Dash. 1) Jump and as you are about to hit the ground, press attack. This makes it so that the animation of your attack gets canceled prematurely, but the damage is still dealt in full. This is really useful because as soon as you land, you can attack again. I demonstrate this against the zombies at the start, and I also show what happens when you dont use this technique and stand too close to one. 2) The Back Dash is an amazing technique, and you should and will be using it a lot throughout the game. When fighting the skeletons I show how you can use the Back Dash to effectively evade attacks; I also show that it can be dangerous in tight situations (ram into enemies behind you). 3) Against the Axe Armor I put the jump canceling and Back Dashing together. 4) Against the final boss I show another extremely useful technique found in Back Dashing. Soma is able to attack while in mid animation of the Back Dash, and he is also able to Back Dash as soon as he attacks. After defeating the Creaking Skull (Boss) I show a small demonstartion of some of the cool techniques. PS: The video is a tiny bit laggy so you don't see the jump cancel very well (but you can still hear the sound of the sword being used)...however, keep in mind you still have to be pretty low to the ground when jump canceling, so you may not even see your weapon when attacking as the animation gets canceled that quickly :p Well hope you guys enjoyed the video.
